Big D Pack

Introducing... NSFG...2! (and a little FAQ)

Missed the earlier announcements? Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 here!

Holy *beep* this is gonna be good. We’ve got some more bad words in this one. Hip slang, too.

Warning: the images on this page may be hazardous to your job security. Can’t say we didn’t warn ya.

New A Cards!

How did we forget about these the first time?

New B Cards!

We had a long internal conversation of whether to upgrade MILF to GILF.

New C Cards!

These are the funniest cards in the whole pack, according to our playtests and our own ears.

New D Cards!

Why did we right these?

New Questions!

Adding the D cards into the mix lets us have a lot of fun with the questions.

New Rules!

Are these stupid? Yup!

All Cards Are Marked!

Just like the prequel, all of the NSFG2 cards are marked as such on the front, so you can still remove them and play a PG-13 version if you’re boring.

Now that we’ve shown you everything that’s new, let’s answer a couple of questions you probably have right now.

The BIG D Pack FAQ:

So what exactly am I getting with the Big D Pack?

The package we are releasing is going to come with the D card pack (which contains some new questions and rules as well), plus ALL THREE of the new expansions - FE:TCH, ARF(ED), and NSFG2 - which contain new cards of every type. We figured you’re gonna want everything, so we just bundled it all together.

Here’s the proposed breakdown of cards:

What if I just want the dirty pack?

Too bad, you’re getting it all.

Geez. Four expansions in one? What’s this gonna cost me?

We’re anticipating the final size of the pack to be around ⅔ the size of the original game. So the price will actually be cheaper, at about $20*. We may be able to unlock bonuses during the campaign that will make the value even higher, like blank cards, exclusive backer-suggested cards, and bonus card packs.

Ok I’m in. When can I get it?

We are shooting for a SPRING 2019 Kickstarter date*. Since it’s an expansion, the delivery time should be a lot faster than last time, so we’re crossing fingers for a late 2019 release date*.

What if I want more copies of the original game?

We have a limited number of the original Kickstarter edition of Cheer Up! available now on Amazon and in person at conventions. We are expecting these to sell out by mid-2019, and once they are gone, they are completely gone, and will never be printed again.

BUT, we will also be printing a second edition of the main game, which you’ll be able to order in the Kickstarter as well. However, this edition’s box will look slightly different and will not include any of the Kickstarter exclusive cards from the first print (replaced with blank cards). During the Kickstarter, you’ll be able to choose which edition you want, until the first one sells out.

At this moment, all of the cards from the second print of the game are planned to look exactly the same. Meaning that the Big D pack will be able to be mixed in with whatever game version you have without issue.

OK, what’s next? Can we play the D cards now?

Over the next few months we’ll be showcasing our progress on the D pack and continuing to playtest it and perfect it. We have a few to-be-announced conventions before the Kickstarter launch in which you’ll be able to play all of the new cards with us, in Massachusetts and in Connecticut (our main haunts as of now!). For now, rest assured that we have a prototype rocking and rolling!

Sometime before the Kickstarter we hope to release a print and play of the new cards that you can download and print out and try yourself!

So that’s what we got so far. We have even more insane announcements that we can’t wait to share with you soon. In the meantime, keep Grandma away and have fun!

*like all details here, this is subject to change

Introducing... ARF(ED)!

Missed the first parts? Part 1 and Part 2 here!

Our 2nd bonus expansion included in the Big D pack will feature all things delicious (unless you’re a vegan - sorry!). It’s called Animals ‘R Food (Except Dogs), or ARF(ED). We, uh, let Niko name this one.

This pack is all about animals and food, and sometimes both at once! Once again, we get cards of all sorts!

New A cards!

Sweet, salty, and everything in between!

New B cards!

We’ve stuffed an entire zoo in here. Some of these make great soups.

New C cards!

All the things that animals do and all the ways your cooking can go wrong.

New D cards!

A food truck in the rainforest? A dog park at the aquarium?

New Questions!

Name your most famous dish! Maybe it’s Fully-cooked Beaver? Or warm meat? And of course, you can mix these in with cards you already have.

New Rules!

Get ready to boop some noses, people.

We have ONE MORE piece to show you, and we’ve definitely saved the best for last. Hide Grandma tomorrow.

Introducing... FE:TCH!

Missed part 1?

Yesterday we told you about the D cards, a new addition to Cheer Up! that will make the game ever crazier. Now it’s time to show you the true expansion packs to the game - these packs will contain new cards of every type - A, B, C, D, Q, and R - all built around a theme.

First up, we have the First Expansion: The Cheer Up! Holidays, or FE:TCH (yes, there will be dog puns. Bear with us).

It’s not just Christmas or Halloween - we combined all the holidays into this one. We’re willing to bet Cheer Up! Is now the only game in the world where you have to tell Santa you want a coffin while pretending to be a leprechaun. It’s kinda awesome.

New A Cards!

‘Tis the Season for some holly, jolly, spooky, and...Irish(?) adjectives to use in your game.

New B Cards!

“Hey, I can’t tell the difference between these words!” (*badum, tish!*)

New C Cards!

Discover the meaning of the season or carve up campers! It’s all up to you!

New D Cards!

Yup, we got themed D cards too. Take your answers all the way from a haunted house to the North Pole.

New Questions!

New questions go along nicely with your holiday romps. New features like “Fill-in-the-blanks” are also included here.

New Rules!

Completely new rules make some of the rounds even more involved! Hope you like smiling!

Mix Them Into The Main Game!

These cards can be mixed directly into your other card decks. We find that gives it the best variety and makes all the new cards really shine. Just like the NSFG pack from the main game, the cards will be marked on the front, so re-sorting them is easy!

But wait, there’s more!

See what else we got going on right here tomorrow!

Part 3

Part 4 (and an FAQ!)

Introducing The First Expansion for Cheer Up!

We assume, like us, you’ve been playing Cheer Up! nonstop 24/7 since you first opened the box. And now you’re probably wondering “Gee, I wonder when those lazy poopheads will give me the next thing?” Well, we’ve been hard at work on something BIG and we are so excited to share it with you.

Cheer Up! - The Big D Pack!

It’s purple! Coming Spring 2019!*

Let’s dive right into what’s new! (Note that all designs and all content are in prototype stage and are subject to change.)

A New Type of Answer Card!

NOTE: Art and content NOT final. Click on images to make them bigger.

You’re probably familiar with how the answer cards in Cheer Up! let you combine words into silly phrases to answer questions. Now we’re introducing a totally new type of answer card to compliment the A’s, B’s, and C’s already in the game. Naturally, it’s a D!

You know the A, B, C’s as adjectives, nouns, and verbs, so now the D cards feature locations and situations that will help you answer new outrageous questions. We’ve been spending a lot of time testing out how the new cards work together, and we can honestly say they are freakin’ hilarious.

New Questions and Combos!

With the addition of D answer cards comes new combos. The cards slip seamlessly into the main game, and that means more hilarious ways to use the same cards you already have from the main game. On a technical note, we’ll also be cleaning up some of the sentence structures to make the Q&A’s more natural and slick. (NOT by taking out the swear words. Don’t worry, we’re getting to those!)

The cool thing about the D cards is that you can create new relationships between the same cards just by changing the way you say the answer.

Put locations on top, below, or inside of each other. The basement of a farm. A country music festival on top of a nursing home. A rave under a bridge. Every card can be paired uniquely with every other card. Put your own words in between them and make them your own!

Something New For The Dealer To Do!

Some of the new Questions in the D Pack have “Fill-in-the-blanks” which will finally give the dealer something fun to do! If one of these cards comes up, the dealer draws a couple cards of that type and chooses one to use as a fill-in. This creates even more variety - every time one of these questions comes up, it’s completely different!

New Rules!

Of course, we also will be adding some amazing new rules to the D pack. They’ll be some new twists on old classics (new accents and bonus phrases) and totally new options as well. The dealer will get to be even more involved this time, and some rules can only be used for certain types of questions.

But wait, there’s more!

The Big D cards are only one piece of the new expansion. In fact, this new expansion is four expansion packs in one because we are straight up crazy.

We’ve got even more to show you this week - stay tuned tomorrow! In the meantime, leave a comment below and let us know what you think!
